Guest information

The Hayloft

  • The Hayloft has been awarded a 4 Star (Gold) rating by Quality in Tourism on behalf of VisitEngland for every year since we opened to guests in May 2012. We elected not to renew our participation in the scheme from 2018–19, however please be reassured that our standards remain as high as ever!
  • Weekly bookings are usually Friday–Friday. The Hayloft is available from 4.00 pm on the arrival day until 10.00 am on the departure day, unless otherwise agreed.
  • Short breaks (minimum 3 nights) are available in low season (3 nights Friday–Monday or 4 nights mid-week Monday–Friday), and on a last-minute basis at other times, if available.
  • All prices are fully inclusive of heating, electricity, logs for the wood-burning stove, towels and bedlinen.
  • A high chair, travel cot and baby bath are available on request at no extra charge (please bring your own cot bedding and linen). We can also fit stair gates at the top and bottom of the stairs.
  • Secure cycle storage may be available by arrangement.

Making a booking

  • If you wish to book (or have any questions), please contact us by telephone or email to confirm availability and make a provisional booking, or use our enquiry form – we’ll try to respond within 24 h. We can then send you a booking form to complete and return.
  • A non-returnable deposit of £300–£400 (£200–£300 for a short break) is due at the time of reservation to secure your booking, which will be treated as provisional until the deposit is received. Please ensure that this reaches us within 5 days of making the booking. The balance is due no later than 6 weeks before the holiday start date. For holidays that are to take place within 6 weeks, the full balance is due on booking.
  • Payment may be made by bank transfer (details will be sent with your booking form), or by cheque. At present, we are unable to take payment by debit or credit card.
  • Please note that if you cancel, we will only be able to refund your payment (less the deposit) if we are able to re-let the Hayloft on the same terms as your booking. Therefore, you are strongly recommended to have suitable holiday travel/ cancellation insurance in place.

Reminders

  • The Hayloft is completely non-smoking, including the garden and farmyard.
  • We are sorry, but we do not accept pets.

Safety

  • Parents of young children are advised that the farmyard in front of the Hayloft still has the original spring-fed cattle water trough (2 ft deep), and a watering pool next to the trough (1 ft deep). There is also a deep pond in the owners’ private garden.

Wireless internet

  • While free wireless internet is provided, it is not possible to guarantee availability, and we will not be liable if the broadband service is unavailable for any reason.
  • The internet connection is very much faster now that there is fibre to the village, but please remember that we have rural speeds here.

Electric vehicle charging

  • We have installed an untethered (universal Type 2 socket) single-phase 7kW EV charge point. You will need to bring your portable charging cable.
  • EV charging is offered for the cost of the electricity used. Please do get in touch if you would like any further details.

Supermarket deliveries

  • Asda, Morrisons, Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose all deliver groceries here. If you wish to shop for groceries online and have them delivered to the Hayloft, please try to arrange a suitable delivery slot for after your arrival. However, if you’re arriving later in the evening and wish to arrange a delivery for before you arrive, please do get in touch to discuss.
