Luxury holiday cottage in the Peak District National Park

Location

The Hayloft is superbly situated high up on Eyam Edge in Highcliffe, a small hamlet above the historic village of Eyam, on a south-facing slope looking out over the village.

Highcliffe is about 9 miles north of Bakewell, 13 miles south west of Sheffield, and about 14 miles east of Buxton.

While we are on a quiet lane off the beaten track, Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Castleton are all within easy reach, as are the Peak towns of Bakewell, Buxton and Tideswell. It is a short walk down to the historic plague village of Eyam, and only a mile along the Edge to our excellent local pub, the Barrel Inn at Bretton.

We are very easy to get to, being about 20 miles from the M1 (Junction 29 via Chesterfield, Baslow and Calver), and 40 miles from the M6 (Junction 17 via Congleton, Buxton and Miller's Dale or Junction 19 via Knutsford, Macclesfield and Buxton).

Our nearest railway station is Grindleford (3.5 miles) on the scenic Hope Valley line between Sheffield and Manchester. The nearest mainline stations are Chesterfield (about 2 hrs from London St Pancras) and Sheffield.

We are about 1 hr (35 miles) by car from Manchester International Airport and 1 hr 15 mins (50 miles) from East Midlands Airport.
